Thank you Sandra so much! With minimizing idea and execution, ahh, i think there is idea -> eval -> execution. and so perhaps the task is to minimize eval part, so make quick decisions! but how to make quick decisions?
Whew Svitlana. This is an essay to carry with you for a while.
Love the idea of tweaking the defaults. Definitely something worthwhile to do
For me, my default used to be grabbing my phone when there's nothing to do. Now it's grabbing a book if there's on nearby or doing nothing (which is underrated). I treat the moment as mental cleaning and reorganizing.
A way to digest what's happened to me instead of always consuming.
Wow. I am actually so actively working on my default state to also be a (book or meditation) vs grabbing my phone. Any tips on how to go through this transition or have some good writings?
One of the biggest realizations I had was this: when you have a choice to do anything, you choose the most stimulating option. For most people, that's their phones.
So I needed to find ways to make books the most stimulating option.
For me, it meant the following:
1) having a book on my at all times
2) removing apps from my smartphone that aren't essential like social media
3) implementing screen time restrictions to lock apps after 10-15 min of activity
4) fill aldowntime with books & audibooks (riding the bus, driving long distances, walks)
I was pretty strict at the start and kept going until I built the habit.
This is great, thank you for sharing @Mohammad! I found #1 to be especially powerful, just having books laying around everywhere I go! Will experiment with the others too!
+ I think focus times iOS might do a trick (e.g. my mindfulness mode is auto turned on at 7 and it only leaves 1/5 screens out, the screen that has mostly thinking / healthy habits apps!
So many things on your ever-evolving list resonate for me!
Minimizing the time between idea and execution — this is one I’m continuously working on myself. How’s that going for you?
Viewing the world as a playground is empowering :) Also sometimes easier said than done 😅
“There is simply no adventure quite as grand as committing to tell the truth about everything."
I love this quote and radical honesty.

also on a more creative outlet side, i think this YTer has interesting takes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxA69uUGEUI&t=499s
